从事电化学能量转化与储能研究,特别关注非整比电极材料的设计制备、构效规律与电池/电催化应用。建立了系列3d金属氧化物、氢氧化物、配位聚合物电极材料的溶液可控合成方法,提出非整比电极材料晶格和表面稳定化策略,发展了低温电解液用于水系锌电池和金属锂电池。在Nature Chem.、Nature Rev. Chem.、Nature Commun.、JACS、Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.、Adv. Mater.、CCS Chem.等期刊发表论文,被SCI他引48000余次,H因子107。担任eScience执行副主编、eScience Energy主编,Research、Nano Materials Science、《高等学校化学学报》《无机化学学报》《储能科学与技术》等期刊副主编或编委。
